Congratulations to you both and I imagine your reaction was a little like something above!

Newly engaged?! Did you get that little box under the tree this xmas? Were you anticipating that your significant other would get down on one knee and ‘pop the question’? After all ’tis the season for it and it is always said that good things come in small packages! Just like elopements and intimate weddings, keeping it small to cherish the moments with your closest loved ones.

The festive period sees an estimated 100,000 proposals according to Bridebook.co.uk and popping the question continues right up until Valentine’s day. So I would definitely say there is love in the air right now and I just love hearing about newly engaged couples at this time of year and how we can help couples create their dream intimate wedding, here or abroad with an Elopement or Destination wedding.

Planning a wedding isn’t exactly a simple affair: so where do you newly engaged couples start your wedding planning? You’ve got to book the venue, send out save the dates and invitations to guests, hire a photographer, talk to numerous caterers, and try to make sure that everything comes together seamlessly. Nowadays it’s even more complex as couples want something bespoke and unique to them, which means sourcing even more suppliers or finding the best ones at least!

So what do all you lovely newly engaged folk do now? Celebrate of course and when the dust has settled, my advice is to get in touch with a wedding planner!

Read on to understand why newly engaged couples need a wedding planner:

1. Enjoy your engagement

Why burst your bubble so soon with the pressure and stress of organising your wedding?

Spend more time with your loved one and let the experts manage it. Hire a planner to manage the planning from start to finish allowing you to enjoy the journey right up to the big day and beyond. You won’t regret it and in hindsight this is what most brides who do it themselves will tell you.

2. You don’t have time

You may think you do but in reality you lead a busy life and between work, family, friends and your social life, the last thing you want is to have to deal with is planning a wedding. We spend time on your wedding because you don’t have the free time to commit. That’s ok, because we love doing it!

For us, it’s our passion! (A job we love!) We can make those important calls and meet with suppliers during normal business hours on your behalf. Planning is fun for us and we secretly love all the wedmin that comes with it. (Wedmin = Wedding administration) for those who don’t know!

3. You get expert advice

Venue and supplier knowledge
We use preferred suppliers, saving you all the research. We have already reviewed and shortlisted them and use the most trusted professionals for our own reputation as well as providing you with the best quality services.

Particularly with venues, logistically we have the inside edge having worked there before and have a rapport with them.

Budgeting
With our supplier connections we are able to negotiate discounts and extras, knowing exactly how much things should cost. We know what’s important and where to make cut backs and most importantly you will never feel like you are in the dark because we will lay out all the costings for you as well as track payments.

Contracts
These are our bibles and we have experience and already know what to look out for.

4. Wedding vision and styling

5. It will all go smoothly

We are deadline oriented and can produce timelines, schedules, spreadsheets, guest lists, and a photographer’s shot list at will because we have existing templates.

Should something go wrong on your wedding day:  for example, your suppliers let you down! Wedding ninjas to the rescue and we will keep it on the down low so you won’t know that there was ever a problem! Our sole purpose is to ensure you love the moment, making those memories with your loved ones.

We will be the point of contact throughout, including on the day to deliver a seamless wedding for you and your guests to enjoy and talk about for years to come.

6. Because I’m worth it!

I know I may be biased but trust me when I say you don’t want the stress of planning your own wedding. Me on the other hand I thrive on it, so send it my way, the quirkier the better!

Now the pricing! Let me break this down. On average a wedding takes between 200 to 300 hours to plan, so if you look at it a planner who charges £4,000 (aka me) I am only earning between £13 – £20 per hour. But for the love of weddings and smiles on my clients faces and amazing guest feedback, I do it!
