Jade and Alfonso’s Salerno Italian Intimate Wedding
An Intimate wedding is becoming more popular and they are one of my favourites to plan alongside elopements; particular over a week or weekend abroad. You know the wanderlust in me just wants to travel the world!
Micro weddings are definitely trending and they feel so unique and special AND you can definitely feel the love! Intimate weddings offer you a celebration with close-knit friends and family, good company goes a long way and it is always the people that make it special.
My couple Jade and Alfonso got married in Italy. Salerno is a beautiful intimate setting where the vineyard overlooked an infinity pool with the gorgeous signature rolling hills as a backdrop. They chose my ‘full planning’ package, as they wanted to get married in Italy, but lived in Abu Dhabi, so felt that by hiring a planner they could take the stress away of planning a wedding from a different country.

I worked with Jade and Alfonso from the get go, getting to know them as a couple and their tastes. Fom there I helped the couple choose a venue, suppliers and advised them on styling ideas. We travelled to Italy to find a suitable venue and worked closely with them to source the right suppliers that matched their style. It was a truly beautiful intimate wedding and I was so happy I got the opportunity to work towards this special day.

Boho Vibes
Both the symbolic ceremony and wedding party took place at Agricola Villa Lupara with the venue sitting heart opening towards the Gulf of Salerno, framing the Amalfi coast beautifully.
This wedding was definitely full of boho chic vibes from the bride’s look to the bright yellow colour palette and the food was just amazing! Knowing their guests well, the couple chose to keep it as informal and natural as possible; a true celebration of love and togetherness with their nearest and dearest. It was a real family affair as entertainment was provided by a close aunt, there was a performance by a niece and of course the brother of the bride stole the show with his words during the open mic session; there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Love Note
Jade sent me these sweet words following their wedding:
“I used the ‘Bells & Whistles’ package by Events by Keenda to plan and manage our wedding in Italy. I am from London, my Husband is from Italy and we live in Abu Dhabi, so it was already a logistical nightmare. However, planning was made a lot easier as Keenda advised us to start early. Keenda presented me with various colour palettes, mood boards and styling ideas over email and Pinterest. She took time to know our tastes in order to optimise and streamline exactly what we wanted. She also made a sight survey in Italy, which is where I really saw her strengths as she drew up a forever changing wedding board for the location and vendors within 3 days, including colours and placing of furniture. Within the same month of visiting the venue, the main bulk of my wedding had been planned…

…Throughout the year we had weekly Skype meetings and communication via WhatsApp and email, in which she replied to very efficiently. Keenda arrived 3 days before the wedding and worked pretty flat out (event the day after) and I did not have to think about anything. Even the collection of our gifts! In conclusion, Events by Keenda have great communication skills, given that she had to work in a foreign speaking country, is dedicated and goes above and beyond to ensure a fantastic job. She made the planning of my wedding far less stressful, and the run up stress free due to the effort made by the company previously. I would highly recommend Events by Keenda especially for weddings and we had the most beautiful, memorable and quirky wedding. Thank you so much! Love from the Lucas-Perfetto’s x”

The wedding didn’t end there as within the following days, the wedding party went on a private tour sailing the stunning Amalfi coast, sipping on Prosecco and taking in the views whilst basking in the sun. Sounds bliss right? Now that’s how you have an intimate wedding abroad!
