Modern fairytale: Rapunzel inspired wedding

Keenda loves series!
Our Rapunzel inspired styled shoot featured last week in The English Wedding Blog. So, I wanted to share my concept with you, in more detail to give you inspiration.
The Venue
“Modern fairy tale magic that exudes elegance and romance. Clissold House boasts beautiful interiors, large ornate windows, and marble fireplaces.”
Clissold House has restored architecture with airy rooms as well as a stunning outdoor terrace. The large ornate windows welcome in natural light and provides you with gorgeous views across the park. To sum up, this place certainly has all the makings of a breath-taking experience.
This stunning grade II listed venue is perfect for an intimate wedding, as well as being surrounded by lush green park and a nearby church. What’s more, Events by Keenda is now a preferred supplier!

The venue is known for its iconic spiral staircase, which is where our romantic love story begins. Rapunzel roams the empty mansion while wearing a dove grey, hand-beaded lace dress with double straps. This Truvelle Alexandra gown drapes beautifully as she glides down the stairs to meet her prince.

For the styled shoot, we used the drawing room, dining room, and adjoining hallway, so we could reflect how well each space works.
The story
“Rapunzel’s world created through contemporary elements and vintage adornments. This is everything you want from a luxury modern fairy tale wedding.”

The modern fairy tale bride
Each gown has its own story.
Firstly, we chose Truvelle Alexandra, a beautiful dove grey wedding dress. Which is, symbolic of the time that she has been waiting for her prince to come, hence the discolouring. The details of the dress are both regal and delicate, which makes it a great gown for the modern fairy tale bride.

Our second bridal look marks her emancipation and escape. When she wears the Emmy Mae Finley, she becomes the contemporary boho bride, who is fiercely in love with life and unafraid.
The beaded, semi-sheer bodice and elegant shoestring straps of the Emmy Mae Finley, is beautifully teamed with a pink lip, dark eyeshadow and a princess like updo. As she dances, the soft tulle skirt floats up revealing a daring double split, showing her now carefree take on life.

We just can’t get enough of these stunning shoes!

Both of our bridal looks were paired with stunning wedding shoes from Harriet Wilde, who are known for their unique designs and luxurious embellishments. Perfect for this modern fairy tale.
For our luxury bridal accessories, we chose beautiful and exquisite pieces from Flourish by Victoria Percival. Our redhead Rapunzel looks stunning with her signature plaited hair. Moreover, the hairpins bring the hairstyle to life with the hair vine adding that special something to her final look.

The modern fairy tale groom
The groom wears a three-piece tweed dinner suit, which is a country classic from Mr and Mrs M suit hire. Ever the gentleman in his elegant and stylish suit, the groom’s style compliments the bride beautifully.

The modern fairy tale couple
There is so much love between this bride and groom, which is echoed through their loving looks and affectionate poses!

The modern fairy tale details
Our styling was romantic with pastel shades of pink and peach. Furthermore, for a modern twist, I used glass candle stick holders with small coloured votives on the dining table. These are from the fabulous Dreaming of Vintage.

We kept the crockery simple and elegant with plain white plates teamed with crystal glassware. And our finishing touches were all in the detail of the lovely stationery from The Humming Bird Card Company.

Totally in love with this modern fairy tale wedding stationery!

The dessert table
The dessert swing table was the ideal platform to showcase the creations from Gourmandises. The display was definitely a showstopper with everything looking so pretty and delicious.

I just loved this Croquembouche that Corrine created. It is what the French call a “pièce montée” and what’s more, they come in all shapes and sizes.

The flowers
Augusta Florals designed the beautiful flower arrangements for our modern fairy tale inspired wedding. The fireplace took centre stage as the backdrop for our ceremony, with the mantlepiece being covered in a floral display, giving contrast to the antlers. As a result, we ended up with a boho chic look.

So, there we have it! Another blog post from our Keenda loves series. I have loved working with all of these brilliant suppliers to create our Rapunzel themed wedding.
Our modern fairy tale themed wedding was captured by Eva Tarnok Photography.
I do hope that you have been inspired by my modern fairy tale shoot to go and try out your own styling or design concept. (Alternatively, give me a shout and we can have a chat about me being your wedding planner!)
